Pictures and videos of positive lateral flow tests found outside the Reading Festival have started to circulate on social media, and people are horrified.
The recent music festival, which Stormzy and Liam Gallagher headlined, required attendees to be double vaccinated or show proof of a recent negative lateral flow test or a positive PCR test in the last 180 days.
An estimated 90,000 people attended the event over the August 27 weekend, the Independent reported.
But reports claim that positive lateral flow tests were found within the campsite grounds. BerkshireLive also discovered several tests on the grounds outside the event.
It’s unclear if the tests in question were taken by those attending or members of the public.
Regardless, social media users were shocked and took to social media to share their disgust.
“If you have a positive PCR and know you have COVID, then fake an LFT and go to a music festival or any other exposure to people, you need to take a long think about things,” one user posted to Twitter.
One attendee confirmed the reports: “I highly recommend anyone who was at reading festival does a PCR test in a few days, bc i saw 3 positive lateral flow tests on the floor on Saturday alone.”
#DailyMail 'DISCARDED positive Covid tests have been found littered around Reading and Leeds festival sites, fuelling fears the events could cause a huge spike in cases.
