Post Malone is paying someone $100,000 if they can defeat him in a game of Magic: The Gathering.
The “White Iverson” crooner and gaming enthusiast will select one lucky gamer during his Whatnot livestream on August 4th, which is open to everyone. The person chosen will be trained by Magic: The Gathering expert Reid Duke in preparation for the match against Post on August 11th.
The competition will be narrated by Josh and Jimmy of The Command Zone on the independent Whatnot app, the company that Post has partnered with for the event.
John Walters, Head of Special Projects at Whatnot, is elated about the partnership and upcoming fan-vs-artist competition.
“Post Malone, both as an artist and as a person, fits perfectly into this growing and supportive community,” Walters said, adding that the 27-year-old will surely be a “formidable opponent” for the match.
Malone also expressed his excitement in a statement, saying that he couldn’t wait to “battle it out with the winner.”
Fans wanting a chance at being selected need to join the August 4th stream at 9:00 p.m. EST on the Whatnot app. They’ll then need to click the Enter Giveaway button on their screen. The winner will be selected at random to go head-to-head with the rapper. If the opponent can defeat Malone in the trading card adventure game, they will receive the $100,000 grand prize.
