If you ever wondered why Post Malone‘s voice has a vibrating sound effect, smoking 80 cigarettes in a day may have a lot to do with it.
In his latest interview on Full Send Podcast with NELK’s Bob Menery and Kyle Forgeard, Post Malone revealed he has smoked up to 80 cigarettes in a single day.
He says, “On a really terrible day? There’s a very fine line between a terrible day and a good day… 40-45. By the time I ask Ben for that second pack, I’m like, ‘Alright dude, chill out.’ But then by the time I open that third pack, I’m like, ‘I’m a total piece of shit, and I need to go to sleep.”
When asked about the most cigarettes he’s smoked in a day, he responded 80. “Probably like 80.”
And the price doesn’t matter to him either, as the most expensive cigarette he’s lit cost him $4,000. When he was supposed to be performing at a venue, they warned him that smoking on the premises would be $4,000 per cigarette, but he still lit up.
He also revealed that he stopped smoking Marlboro Reds and smokes Camel Crush because it doesn’t hurt his throat as much, labeling it a “girly cigarette.”
“I used to smoke Marlboro Reds, and that was a lot cooler of me, but now I smoke girly cigarettes like Camel Crush, and that’s my favorite cigarette. I like ’em ’cause you can smoke ’em all day and it’s just like… it doesn’t hurt your throat that much. But Marlboro Reds suck. Not really, but they hurt.”
