Pregnant Woman Requests To Be Freed From Jail Because Her Unborn Child Was Not Charged With A Crime [Video]

A pregnant woman files a motion to be released from jail, arguing that her unborn fetus is being unlawfully detained.

The attorneys for 24-year-old Natalia Harrell recently filed legal documents on behalf of her unborn child. The motion claims the fetus is locked up without being charged with a crime.

“The State has placed the unborn child in such inherently dangerous environment by placing the unborn child in close proximity to violent criminal offenders,” the motion says.

Harrell is currently facing second-degree murder after shooting Yvette Borcela inside of an Uber last July. Last week, video footage emerged showing the moment Harrell pulled the trigger on Borcela.

Harrell was allegedly invited to join a group of men at a South Beach nightclub. The men asked Harrell if she wanted to invite another woman. Borcela then joined the group but later irritated Harrell because of her drinking and dancing.

The video showed Harrell arguing with Borcela inside of an Uber after they left the club around 2 a.m. At one point, Borcela is seen reaching for Harrell when she ultimately shot the mother of three in the stomach.

The Uber driver quickly pulled the car over as everyone scrambled to exit the vehicle. Borcela was transported to a hospital but unfortunately died from her injuries.

Harrell’s attorney argued that she felt threatened by Borcela and fired the gun out of protection for her unborn child.

Miami-Dade County are expected to address the motion within the upcoming days.
