As we all know President Obama is a huge sports fanatic, so its to no surprise that he too caught the game and the call. His words? He’d be “pretty aggravated” if he were a Lions fan. And trust me the Lions fans are definitely aggravated, it isn’t too pretty though. However due to his long time allegiance to his Hometown team the Chicago Bears, he says he cant have “too much sympathy for the Lions.” Understandable.
Obama went on to discuss the call more in depth, saying that he couldn’t “remember a circumstance in which a good call by one of the refs is argued about by an opposing player of the other team with his helmet off on the field, which in and of itself is supposed to be a penalty.”
The President is definitely not going to be losing any sleep over the bizarre turn of events though. He says since he himself had never seen anything like that, he’ll leave it up to the sports experts for discussion. As for him, he’ll weigh in when his Bears are in a good spot, acknowledging that the Lions were in “a much better position” then his Bears were, by at least making the playoffs this year.
