President Joe Biden had a cringey moment while addressing Howard University graduates Saturday.
Biden was the HBCU’s key commencement speaker at this year’s graduation ceremony, and he made a remark that raised a few eyes.
At some point, POTUS brought up white supremacy, saying it is the most dangerous terroristic threat to America. But things went a little flat when he added: “And I’m not just saying that because I’m at a Black HBCU. I say (it) wherever I go.”
The comment garnered a few chuckles from the crowd. Still, it’s probably something that could have been left out, considering he was at a historically black college with a majority black student body.
Biden likely meant no harm, but his latest side-eye comment makes many think of the other eyebrow-raising comments Biden has said while speaking of Blacks or to Black people.
During a Breakfast Club episode, Biden said that any Black person who had trouble deciding between him and Donald Trump in the 2020 election wasn’t Black.
