President Joe Biden has tested negative for COVID-19 but will continue to isolate in the White House, pending a second negative test.
Biden’s physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor said in a statement Saturday that the president tested negative and will continue to isolate out of “an abundance of caution.”
“The President continues to feel very well,” O’Connor wrote. “Given his rebound positivity which we reported last Saturday, we have continued daily monitoring.”

Biden first tested positive for COVID-19 on July 21. Following a course of the antiviral Paxlovid, he again tested positive. Rebound cases are rare but have been documented among those who have taken Paxlovid to combat the virus.
The president has been isolated at the White House for the last 17 days. He is scheduled to travel to Kentucky on Monday to see the damage and meet with families that have been affected by the deadly flooding.
