We The president of an Orlando, Florida company, Daniels Manufacturing, told his employees that if Joe Biden beats Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election some of them will be laid off permanently.
These are trying times amid the deadly coronavirus. A deadly issue that if handled way before it hit the States could have prevented the country from having millions of people from being jobless, thousands from being sick and millions of businesses from being shut down. But, alas, Trump still doesn’t seem to quite take the virus seriously and now big companies are seemingly manipulating the already difficult circumstance for their own wants.
In a letter to his employees, George Daniels, of Daniels Manufacturing, a company that makes tools and electronics for aerospace and military clients, said the comfort of having a job will rely on the outcome of the presidential election. “If Trump and the Republicans win [the election], DMC will hopefully be able to continue operating, more or less as it has been operating lately. However, if Biden and the Democrats win, DMC could be forced to begin permanent layoffs beginning in late 2020 and/or early 2021,” wrote Daniels, who staffs over 100 people at the establishment.
Some of those workers commented on the statement. Stan Smith said he was so offended by the letter that he decided to quit. “Everybody has a choice to make their own decision,” Smith told WESH 2 News. Some employees said they would be voting for Trump while others said they were upset by their employer’s move, Fox News reports.
The outlet reports that there is a Trump flag that flies outside the company building. Daniels added that he feels it’s his responsibility to let his workers know their future at the company if the election doesn’t come out in Trump’s favor.
