Prince’s death fueled a number of documentaries, concert re-runs and reunion shows, but now we have a comic book biography to add to the collection.
“Tribute: Prince” focuses on Prince as the subject, and “chronicles his meteoric rise to dominance in the pop/funk/ music scene.”
The comic book is published by Storm Entertainment, who isn’t new to Prince or the comic book biography scene. In fact, they’ve released similar comic books in honor of Kurt Cobain, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse. In 2013 they released the book Fame: Prince #1.
Storm Entertainment president, Darren G Davis, wants Prince fans to have a deeper understanding of the legacy. In a statement Davis said “I hope readers come away with not simply a sense of the richness of his life, but how he influenced practically every artist that came after; regardless of genre…”
Tribute: Prince was released June 7th, aka “Prince Day” in Minnesota, and is available digitally and in print. Fans also have the option to choose from three different comic book covers.
Prince fans, are you adding this to your library?
