Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has revealed that she is battling cancer.
Middleton shared the grim update on Friday in a video address after months of speculation surrounding her health. In the two-minute, twenty-second clip, Middleton shared that after undergoing abdominal surgery in January 2024, she was told that subsequent tests detected the presence of cancer.
“My medical team, therefore, advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment. This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she stated in the clip.
Middleton has been a trending topic online, with Royal watchers speculating about why she has not been seen much in the past few months. Last week, the family released a photo of Middleton with her and Prince William’s children. However, British media outlets quickly pointed out that the image had been altered. Middleton claimed her amateur editing skills were the cause of the photo. However, this only sparked more questions. Earlier this week, Middleton and William were spotted out together at a market, with some people pointing out that Middleton appeared visibly thinner.
The Princess has not disclosed the type of cancer she was diagnosed with, though she is not the only Royal battling cancer. King Charles disclosed that he, too, had been getting treatment for the illness.
