The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will require a negative Covid-19 test from all air travelers entering the United States.
According to CNN, the move is expected to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. Air travelers will be required to get a viral test within three days of their flight into the U.S. and must provide written documentation of their lab results or documentation if they have recovered from Covid-19.
The order will go into effect on January 26th and applies to US citizens and legal permanent residents over the age of two who fly commercially or privately.
U.S. citizens traveling in countries where adequate COVID-19 testing is not readily available or where they may not be able to satisfy the requirements are advised to depart immediately or prepare to be unable to return to the United States until they can meet the requirements.
