Prosecutors Request Lighter Sentence for Tekashi 6ix9ine

Prosecutors in the Tekashi 6ix9ine case have requested a lighter sentence for the rapper after his cooperation with federal prosecutors. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, the U.S Attorney for the Southern District of New York called the rapper’s cooperation “incredibly significant and extremely useful” in prosecuting and convicting two members of the Nine Trey Bloods.

Prosecutors say 6ix9ine took them through his social media posts to help provide information on the criminal actions of the gang. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

6ix9ine got a plea deal after pleading guilty to racketeering, firearms offenses, conspiracy, narcotics trafficking, and among other crimes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The rapper agreed to be a witness in order to avoid a minimum of 47 years in prison. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Prosecutors acknowledge that there is now a target on 6ix9ine’s back and that his life will never be the same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The sentence will be up to the judge in the end, but prosecutors have asked the judge to consider Tekashi’s cooperation in the process.
