”We believe Anita Hill” was the sign Amy Schumer was holding while wearing a green shirt with “This today, then #ERA” written on the back before getting arrested for protesting Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.
“Let’s keep fighting, let’s keep showing up,” were Schumer’s words of encouragement to fire up fellow protestors.
The comedian knew there was a possibility of getting arrested as she headed to the Hart Senate Office Building. Dozens of demonstrators were getting detained when a Capitol Hill police officer asked Schumer if she wanted to be arrested, with no hesitation she replied “Yes.”
Model, Emily Ratajkowski, was also in the crowd when she got arrested. She took to Twitter to share her frustration, “Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault.”
Ratajkowski was seen holding a sign that read, “Respect Female Existence or Expect Our Resistance.”
A vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation could take place as early as tomorrow with a final vote possibly on Saturday.
