Thanks to rapper Pusha T, fast food icons Arby’s and McDonald’s are beefing now.
Pusha T’s feud with McDonald’s was birthed in 2003 when he helped pen their famous “I’m Lovin’ It” jingle. However, the Grammy-award-winning MC says that he wrote the celebrated tune at “a very young time” in his career when he was not knowledgeable about proper compensation and ownership.
“It’s something that’s always dug at me later in life like, ‘Dammit, I was a part of this, and I should have more stake,'” the 44-year-old told Rolling Stone. Now, King Push is getting his revenge through a new partnership with Arby’s, where he used his bars to deliver a diss track to his Quarter Pounder serving opps.
Push takes aim at Mickey D’s pescetarian offering on the “Spicy Fish Diss Track,” a diss jingle promoting Arby’s new Spicy Fish Sandwich.
“I’m the reason the whole world love it, and now I gotta crush it/ Filet-O-Fish is — and you should be disgusted,” Pusha raps.
On Monday, Arby’s shared the record on Twitter with a music video previewing their new food selection.
McDonald’s has not yet cooked up a response record for their rival as the fish filet battle heats up.
