On Wednesday, one day after #PushaT exposed #Drake for being an absentee father on “The Story of Adidon,” the Young Money rapper issued a statement to clear up the confusion about the G.O.O.D. Music rapper’s cover art, which featured a photo by David Leyes that depicts Drake in blackface.
“The photos represented how African Americans were once wrongfully portrayed in entertainment,” Drake’s statement read, as he detailed the alleged collaboration with his friend, Mazin Elsadig. “This was to highlight and raise our frustration with not always getting a fair chance in the industry and to make a point that the struggle for black actors had not changed much.”

However, many are not buying the rapper’s explanation. In fact, even Pusha says he doesn’t believe the hype at all.

“I don’t believe it at all,” Pusha said in an interview on Real 92.3. “That doesn’t change my view at all…..You are silent on all black issues, Drake. You don’t stand for nothing, you don’t say nothing about nothing.”

“You have all the platform in the world,” Pusha continued. “You were so passionate back then? No you weren’t. That’s number one. That’s what I know.”

What are your thoughts? Has Drake been vocal about black issues?
