Pusha T is finally laying it all out about his split from Ye, once known as Kanye West, and the tension runs deep.
In his new GQ cover story with Clipse, Pusha revealed the cracks in their brotherhood began long before it all fell apart in 2022.
“I realized at certain points that I was really alone in everything that was going on as far as rap drama,” Pusha admitted.
That feeling hit hard during the 2021 “Donda” sessions in Atlanta.
“Everybody’s working, but I really got s**t to do, and I leave and it’s one energy, and then when I come back, the energy’s off. And then you hear about the sidebar conversations,” he explained.
The shift became clearer when friends started relaying what was said behind his back.
“I feel like I was the only one who didn’t [have an agenda]. My agenda was for the squad,” Pusha continued.
As for Ye, Pusha said the fallout was inevitable, despite their longtime friendship.
“He knows that every issue that he’s having and crying about online right now, I’ve told him distinctly about those things. He don’t talk to me like he talks to others,” the 48-year-old stated.
Even though he called Ye a “genius,” he admitted, “He knows I don’t think he’s a man…He’s showed me the weakest sides of him.”
While their friendship ended, Pusha still gave credit where it was due: “The one thing he did give me was all the profits back from the Def Jam deal.”
He left G.O.O.D. Music in 2022, saying, “It’s wrong. Period.”
In recent days, Ye admitted that he missed his friendship with Pusha. However, judging by the way things ended, they may never restore the bond they once shared.
