QAnon supporters gathered on Monday to witness the return of John F. Kennedy Jr. in a bizarre conspiracy-riddled rally.
Hundreds of believers descended onto downtown Dallas Monday night, anticipating that JFK Jr. would reappear to help former President Trump regain control of the White House. On Tuesday, the QAnon clan returned, this time gathering near Dealey Plaza, the spot where JFK Jr.’s father, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald while riding in a motorcade in 1963. The younger Kennedy was killed years later in a 1999 plane crash.
However, QAnon supporters seem to think that JFK Jr. faked his death and is alive and supporting Trump from a distance. One post that has circulated the web from a popular QAnon account claims that once Kennedy Jr. helps get Trump back in the White House, Trump will return the favor by allowing JFK Jr. to follow in his father’s footsteps and become president.
One attendee at the rally said she believes that both father and son are living and will team up for the “Trump-JFK Jr. administration.” Several people at the rally held flags and banners that read “Trump JFK JR.”
Experts are both surprised and concerned that the conspiracy drew such a large crowd. Domestic extremism researcher Jared Holt says that the JFK Jr. theory had not been a widespread belief amongst QAnon followers.
This is not the first time that QAnon supporters voiced their JFK Jr. beliefs. In 2019, the group awaited the return of Kennedy Jr., who was expected to appear on the fourth of July.
Of course, neither of the Kennedys arrived at the rally.
