R. Kelly Receives Both COVID-19 Vaccine Doses In Prison

R. Kelly is now fully vaccinated, having received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine while incarcerated and awaiting trial in Chicago.

Sources told TMZ that the Bureau of Prisons at MCC Chicago administered the first dose to the R&B singer in January and the second dose last month. So far, 128 staff members and 63 inmates have been vaccinated, according to the BOP.

It is unclear which vaccine was administered to Kelly.

R. Kelly has petitioned the court twice to be released over fears of contracting the coronavirus behind bars. Both times the court has denied his request.

Kelly is currently awaiting trials in both New York and Illinois. He is facing charges of sexual assault, racketeering, and producing child pornography. His New York trial is scheduled to begin in April 2021. The Illinois trial was pushed back to September 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic.

He has pled not guilty to all charges and vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
