R. Kelly Says “Problematic Sexual Behaviors” Are Drea Kelly’s Fault

According to a newly unveiled psychiatric report, R. Kelly is blaming his ex-wife Drea Kelly for his deviant sexual behaviors.

A psychiatrist sat with Kelly for several sessions leading up to his 30-year prison sentence, discussing several topics about the singer’s past. One revelation no one saw coming was Kelly’s belief that Drea was the cause for much of his mishaps. One point of contention was Drea wanting to continue pursuing a career in dance, something he says “interfered” with their marriage. Kelly claimed Drea no longer wanted to be a housewife, ultimately ending the marriage.

The disgraced music writer and producer took things a step further by slamming his ex-wife for keeping their children away from him, which he said caused his “problematic sexual behaviors.”

“Mr. Kelly stated that his sexual history related to conflict with his ex-wife of subsequent estrangement from his children,” the report stated.

Drea and Kelly married in 1996 and divorced in 2009. They share 24-year-old Joann, 22-year-old Jaah, and 20-year-old Robert Kelly Jr. In an Instagram post from 2019, Joann slammed her father on Instagram, calling him a “monster” in light of the abuse allegations against him.

“I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house,” she wrote at the time.

Drea also has detailed abuse at the hands of Kelly. During an appearance on “The View,” she revealed that Kelly locked her inside a bathroom while pregnant, forcing her to sleep there. The former “Hollywood Exes” star also said she’d been hogtied by Kelly, who left her on the floor restrained as he laid in bed.

During the chat with the doctor, Kelly also detailed his own childhood abuse, which was also documented in the report. His attorney’s released the psychiatrists’ notes to the court before his sentencing, hoping that it would provide leniency. Their tactic didn’t work. Kelly received 30 years in federal prison in New York and still faces charges in other states.
