R. Kelly has been slapped with even more sex crime charges, separate from the charges in New York and Chicago.
Now, the self-proclaimed Pied Piper of R&B faces new charges in Minnesota, as prosecutors have charged him with engaging in prostitution with someone under 18 and hiring/offering/agreeing to hire someone for sexual contact.
According to prosecutors, as reported by TMZ, the alleged incident occurred on July 11, 2001, in Minneapolis, with an alleged victim between 16 and 17. Apparently, the alleged victim approached the singer for an autograph, but instead, according to Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, Kelly allegedly paid the young girl $200 to get naked and engage in sex acts.
Although Kelly has yet to respond personally to the allegations, his attorney, Steve Greenberg tweeted, “give me a break. This is beyond absurd.”
