R. Kelly‘s publicist claims he has offered multiple times to reunite Joycelyn Savage and her family, and now he says he is officially done trying to arrange a meeting between the family.
Darrell Johnson spoke with reporters after Kelly’s latest court appearance and appeared to become annoyed over questions concerning the meeting, questions of which he did not answer at the time.
According to The Blast, Johnson sent a message to Savage family attorney, Gerald Griggs, stating, “As of today I’m no longer part of any such negotiation concerning reuniting the parents and Mrs. Savage,” adding, “Mr. Kelly is my client not Mrs. Savage.”
The Savage family never believed Kelly and his team were genuine about setting up the meeting in the first place and believe it’s a PR stunt. Griggs said, “It has been 15 days and we have not heard one peep from Kelly’s camp about the meeting.”
Attorney Griggs says Kelly likes to make big promises when he’s “in front of a microphone,” but has yet to follow through with any real action. He says the incident further proves of the “lack of transparency” in Kelly’s camp.
Additionally, R. Kelly’s motion for permission to leave the country continues. His plans to go to #Dubai has Savage’s family worried that the singer will take her with him. They believe Kelly wants to take both Joycelyn and his other girlfriend, Azriel Clary, out of the United States to Dubai, where he can escape criminal prosecution.
Currently, the U.S. does not have an extradition treaty with the United Arab Emirates, even though there are thousands of American troops in the country and Dubai’s Jebel Ali port is a major port of call for the United States Navy, according to The Blast. The Savage family believes if he’s allowed to travel outside the country, it will remove all hope of ever getting their daughter back.
