Rae Sremmurd To Pay $18,000 To Settle Fyre Festival Lawsuit

Rae Sremmurd’s Sway Lee and Slim Jxmmi will pay back $18,000 of the money they were paid to perform at the famously fraudulent Fyre Festival, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

The duo was originally paid $100,000 to perform at the festival and settled the lawsuit against them for $18,00 as payment in full. The deal was reached between Rae Sremmurd and the trustee presiding over Fyre Festival’s bankruptcy.

Back in 2019, the trustee overseeing the bankruptcy proceedings filed 14 lawsuits against multiple celebrities and artists, including Blink-182, Kendall Jenner, and Migos, that were paid to promote or perform at Fyre Festival.

Billy McFarland, the mastermind behind the failed festival, was sentenced to 6 years in prison in October of 2018 on fraud charges. Upon his release, he is responsible for $26 million in restitution to his victims.
