Impeaching Donald Trump has been in question for some time now. But, the Republican Party seems torn on the decision. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky) believes if Republicans vote to convict Trump, the party is bound to lose voters.
“If Republicans go along with it, it’ll destroy the party,” Paul said on Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle. “Look, I didn’t agree with the [Capitol] fight that happened last week, and I voted against overturning the election, but at the same time, the impeachment is a wrongheaded, partisan notion.”
The number of those Republicans in favor of convicting Trump is small. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) is one and is “hopeful that Republicans can use impeachment to purge Trump from the GOP.”
But, the 16 additional votes he needs to do this seems unlikely. Paul is convincing in his reasoning to back Trump, despite what happened on Jan. 6 .
“This isn’t about, anymore, the Electoral College, this is about the future of the party, and whether you’re going to ostracize and excommunicate President Trump from the party. Well, guess what? Millions of his fans will leave as well.”
He predicts that one-third of voters will end-up leaving the GOP.
This article is so true! Just requested new voting registration for all the members of my family so that just incase the republicans jump ship and vote to impeach then will be changing our party.
I have zero beliefs that match democrats beliefs but would even prefer them to these rhino republicans that are completely fake. At least with democrats you know what they stand for and you know they will all vote together and stick together no matter how guilty or bad the situation is similar to the democrat supreme court judges. However, republicans can’t stand together for anything and always jump the ship and rush off to CNN and other stations to act all high and mighty.
To have members of your own party claim your some crazy Qanon (have no idea what this is) person just because you question the election results is the craziest thing I have heard today. Also, if you watch the video of the riot at the white house you can see numerous hippy guys with long hair and I’m sorry but I have never in my life met a hippy with dreadlocks who is a republican. However, if you look at green new deal and BLM protest you will see tons of these type of people since they are democrats.
In reality .00001 percent of both parties have racist and Qanon type conspiracy people that neither party wants or associates with. Trying to use this .00001 percent to label the entire party is ridiculous. No regular person is racist or supports nazi or any other ridiculous things the left will accuse republicans of. It’s so exhausting to hear the racist argument used for everything now days. Ask any democrat friend of yours why they think Trumps racist… Charlottesville will be there response. Then proceed to play them the entire clip and they will all say the same thing… Oh wow I never realized that’s what he said. Well, obvisouly you didn’t since the new media on the left only quote enough of the actual speak to make him appear racist. Now, with this current capital riot you see it all over again. Trump inflamed the riot and was the reason for this riot and if you check 99% of articles you will see no mention of the line from his speech saying “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” Once again majority of the country will never even know he said this and they just so happen to leave this out of every article just like they did with Charlottesville. If anyone is to blame for this political tension its the news companies and media for these misleading narratives. Also, a large segment of people believe Trump never said anything when the riot started and just sat hiding in his office and refused to comment since this too is what the media wants you to think.
Sadly, Trump was one of the few presidents that actually cared about the people and the News Companies and Social Media were able to convice the nation that a guy who had never been a racist prior to office and was even mentioned in hundreds of rap songs was the most racist person to walk this earth. The one person who cared for the average worker was falsely characterized as only out to help the ultra rich even though Biden is supported by the ultra rich, then what is left for this country moving forward.
