Rap Queens Remy Ma & Nicki Minaj Go At Each Other’s Necks; Here’s The Timeline

Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj have been taking subliminal shots at each other and though they refuse to say each others’ name, or even admit there’s a beef, hip hop fans have been catching the disses.

Nicki and Remy, who knew each other prior to Remy’s stint in jail, seemed to be cool at first. However, while Remy was serving time, Nicki’s career catapulted. In that time, the media named Nicki the new Queen of Rap. Now, since Remy’s release, she’s been dropping bars after bars of undeniable heat. Did she come to reclaim the crown?

There had been small subliminals here and there. For example, on “Money Showers,” which dropped last year, Remy says: “Bitch claiming she the queen, what? Not hardly. Who the fuck gave you your crown bitch? Steve Harvey?” But it wasn’t until  Remy dropped a verse on Phresher’s “Wait A Minute Remix,” that people were led to think she was really coming for Nicki’s neck.

“Same bitches try to call me/ That’s how I knew y’all was phony /I be putting in that work, taking ’em to church /’Cause I leave ’em holy / Will I smoke this bitch? Yes / Probably fail my piss test / Get rid of those fake breasts /And put a vest on this bitch chest.”

There was also a line that made fans believe Remy was taking shots at Lil Kim as well.

“That ghostwriter bout to call her / That lifeline getting shorter / R.I.P Biggie Smalls /Why the fuck they ain’t warn her?”

Despite what the fans think they knew, Remy told The Breakfast Club that she wasn’t firing shots and when she does, you’ll know. “I’m going to say your government [name]. I’m going to look it up. I’m going to say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kids’ name. I want you to know that I’m talking about you,” she told the morning show. However, Phresher says he has no doubt that there were lines dedicated to Nicki.

Nicki must have thought there were lines dedicated to her also, because she retaliated with what appeared to be a diss to Remy on Gucci Mane’s “Make Love” track.

“I don’t see her/ Bitch I’m the greatest, no Kendrick and no Sia / I’m the iPhone, you the Nokia / Everybody know you jealous, bitch it’s so clear / Tell them bum ass bitches to play their role / She see my sexy ass every time she scroll / I got it in the can, Dole / Your career gon’ be with Anna Nicole / Witcha dumbass face / She ain’t eatin’ but I swear she got some bum ass taste / Text her man like, “Dawg, how that bum ass taste?” / Pay your rent! And stay in your bum ass place / Oooohhh, oh you the qu-e-e-the queen of this here? / One platinum plaque, album flopped, bitch, where? (bitch, where?) / I took two bars off just to laugh / You see, silly rabbit, to be the queen of rap / You gotta sell records, you gotta get plaques / S, plural like the S on my chest / Now sit your dumbass down / You got an F on your test.”

The beef doesn’t stop there, however. On Saturday morning, Remy Ma responded with an entire track dedicated to Nicki Minaj, titled “ShEther.” To make sure Nicki knew it was about her, the cover art features a Nicki Barbie and she made sure to @ Nicki on Twitter.

On the 2017 Ether, Remy mentions Nicki’s verse on “Make Love” and then brings Meek Mill into the mix:

“How you take my ’09 jail tweet and run? / Talking ’bout “bringing knives to a fight with guns,”When the only shot you ever took was in your buns!/  And I saw Meek at All-Star; he told me your ass drop / He couldn’t fuck you for three months because your ass dropped / Now I don’t think you understand how bad her ass got / The implants that you had put in her ass popped! / I was like, “Damn, 90 days and you couldn’t have box? / Did she at least compensate, start giving you mad top? / Her name Minaj, right? She ain’t throw you some mad thots?” / He said “Nah,” that’s when I knew you was really a trash bop.”

The beef has even spilled into social media, with each rapstress taking internet shots.
