Orlando rapper 9lokkNine pronounced “Glock Nine” was sentenced Wednesday to about seven years in federal charges. He plead guilty to weapon charges and identity theft in July.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, 9lokkNine who’s given name is Jacquavius Smith fraudulently applied for and received $10,216 in federal Paycheck Protection Program funds meant to help struggling businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 21-year-old used the name “S.S” to receive deposits into his bank account. Police recovered around $7,000 out of the amount he received.
The rapper plead guilty to the possession of an unregistered firearm after hiding a stolen rifle in his grandparent’s garage. However, he has had a felony record since he was 16.
Orlando Sentinel also reported that authorities announced RICO charges against Smith and more than 20 other people earlier this year. The charges were in connection with an ongoing gang feud in Central Florida that has resulted in multiple shootings and homicides.
