Rapper Gloss Up has seemingly announced that she is out of her deal with Quality Control Music.
On Tuesday, the “Ride Home” performer shared an Instagram Story post to her Close Friends, which was apparently leaked. She wrote, “Finally free! Now I’m finna pop it.” Her announcement comes just days after debuting her latest single, “Seeing Red,” where she opened up about being underrated and criticized heavily for failing to release a hit single.
Gloss has been hinting at issues with QC for weeks now. In a recent live stream with Khaotic, she revealed that her label didn’t allow her to release music because they didn’t see any growth from her. Last month, the Memphis entertainer also posted a clip from this season of “The Impact,” where a member of her team informs her that she “probably would have been dropped” had she been on a different label, telling her she had “only but so many chances.”
Gloss was signed to Quality Control Music in 2022 after making a name for herself in the underground Memphis scene. She has been featured on HitKidd’s “Shabooya” and dropped her single “Bestfrenn” with close friend GloRilla last year. Despite a strong start, Gloss’ personal life has often overshadowed her music.
In May, she blasted Hunxho for allegedly starting a relationship with Keyshia Cole while he was dating her. Then, in August, she filmed herself kicking her boyfriend out of her home after a domestic dispute of some kind.
