Lil Mosey has been acquitted of rape charges, thus avoiding a possible life sentence.
On Thursday, XXL reported a jury in Chehalis, Washington, cleared the Seattle rapper (whose real name is Lathan Moses Stanley Echols) of all charges.
The artist behind the popular song “Blueberry Faygo” celebrated his acquittal on social media after passing several polygraph tests before the trial, which started on February 22nd.
“Spent 2 years of my life going thru the storm and I’m happy to say that God finally brought the truth to light. Thank you,” Mosey wrote on Instagram.

According to Lil Mosey’s attorney, Shane O’Rourke, the verdict has vindicated his client’s claim of innocence, while also accusing the prosecutors of being reluctant to accept the evidence presented in favor of his innocence over the almost two-year period of the case.
“Mosey maintained his innocence from the start and has now been cleared of all charges,” O’Rourke said. “He voluntarily submitted to two lie detector tests and passed each of them prior to trial. The prosecutors were unwilling to accept the evidence of his innocence after two years of investigation and proof. Mosey has been completely vindicated and didn’t deserve to ever be prosecuted.”
In April 2021, Lil Mosey was charged with rape after a young woman claimed that she and her friend met him and his friends at a cabin, where they consumed White Claws and champagne. While one of the alleged victims initially agreed to have sex with Mosey in a vehicle, she later blacked out. She then accused Mosey of climbing on top of her and forcing her legs apart to have sex with her again.
Mosey was ultimately charged with second-degree rape.
