Rae Sremmurd rapper Slim Jxmmi, whose given name is Aaquil Brown, was arrested Tuesday morning in Miami after allegedly attacking the mother of his child during an argument, police said.
The situation reportedly escalated when Brown returned allegedly smelling like alcohol.
The woman also told authorities things took a turn when she attempted to move their son, who was asleep at the time, from his playpen to bed. She claimed Brown pulled her hair extension out and that the rapper become even more upset after she tried to record the altercation on her phone. She told police the 30-year-old chased her around their home and that she ran into a room and closed the door at one point, but her child’s father kicked the door down, ripped the phone from her hand, and threw it off a balcony.
The phone was later retrieved by cops undamaged.
