Rapper T.I. is taking his standup comedy career very seriously. In a surprise set at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, the crowd was pleasantly “shocked” with the rapper’s performance.
T.I. is famously known for his rapping career and being the King of the South but has been pursuing standup comedy. A witness told Page Six about T.I.’s surprise set.
“T.I. did a surprise set. He was actually pretty good! They sent out a security force to prevent people from recording.” Fans will not view the set anywhere; phones were not allowed.
However, most of his material focused on his kids and wife, Tiny.
Someone said, “People were shocked. They were like ‘WTF?’ The audience had to look twice to see if it was really him.”
In a Youtube chat with fellow rapper Nelly, T.I. opened up that he wanted to take standup more seriously. “I’ve been doing this every day for three weeks.” He also mentioned his set at Laugh Factory.
It looks like his comedy has been a success since he was last featured on Shaquille O’ Neal’s “All-Star Comedy Jam” at the Microsoft Center in L.A. However, it’s no doubt of his quick success in comedy as his former VH1 show, T.I., and Tiny: The Family Hustle kept viewers laughing all of the time.
