Texas rapper Tay-K is being sued by an elder couple for a 2017 robbery and assault in Arlington, Texas. The suit, filed by Owney and Barbara Pepe, says Owney (who was 65 years old at the time) was walking in Cravens Park when Tay-K robbed him at gunpoint, beat him unconscious and left him in the woods. The suit also names record label 88 Classic and Tay-K’s manager, Ezra Averill.
According to The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, “[Tay-K] savagely beat the defenseless 65-year-old, leaving him unconscious with multiple broken bones and [a] brain bleed. McIntyre dragged Mr. Pepe’s body off the trail and left him for dead in the woods.”
The suit also claims that Tay-K and his team intentionally capitalized on the alleged incident with a new music release strategy, by “illegally” hiding money from a record deal to avoid compensating alleged victims.
The assault on Pepe was just one month after Tay-K, born Taylor Travon McIntyre, allegedly shot and killed 23-year-old Mark Anthony Saldivar. The rapper is also alleged to have killed 21-year-old Ethan Miller in 2016 and was placed on house arrest as he awaited a determination on whether he would be tried as an adult. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
18-year-old Tay-K is currently in prison and facing multiple charges, including two for capital murder and one count of aggravated robbery.
