We haven’t heard much from Trick Daddy since he spearheaded the campaign to keep Lil Wayne out of Miami. Today we find out that the rapper, known for such hits as “I’m A Thug” and “Thug Holiday”, was arrested last night for possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm by a felon — both felonies, since felons aren’t allowed to have guns.Â
The incident happened late last night in Miramar, Fl. Trick Daddy, real name Maurice Young, was pulling out of his driveway when he was nabbed Broward County Drug Task Force deputies. He was charged with driving with a suspended license but this is not where the story ends. What makes matters worse, sources say the rapper was under surveillance by police who suspected he was running a grow house. When cops stopped him, Trick denied the grow house allegations, but did offer up some information. He admitted to deputies that they might find some cocaine and marijuana roaches in the home. I guess this was his attempt to cooperate with the law, in the event that they’d find something anyway. Though most people would have asked for a warrant first, this IS Florida we’re talking about.Â
Needless to say the police searched the house and found 1 gram of cocaine in the nightstand of Trick’s bedroom, a 9mm firearm under his pillow and ammo in another bedroom. He was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license.
Trick Daddy was arrested and released this morning on $6,100 bond.
