On Sunday, rapper Yella Beezy was struck multiple times in a drive by shooting on the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Texas.
According to the Dallas News, police said a man was found along the State Highway 121 Bypass, after someone pulled up beside him and fired more than a dozen shots at his vehicle.
Officials identified the victim as Deandre Conway, and later managers for the Oak Cliff rapper confirmed he’d been shot.
Conway was immediately transported to a local hospital, where officials say he is alive and breathing. However, they have yet to determine a motive for the shooting.
“Thank you to all the fans who have sent prayers and condolences on behalf of Yella Beezy, He is currently in stable condition and will make a speedy recovery. We appreciate your continued support and ask that you keep him in your prayers and respect his family’s privacy at this time,” a rep for Yella Beezy wrote on Instagram.
No arrests have been made.
