It’s that time again for the NBA champs to decide whether or not they’d like to visit the White House and it looks like Toronto Raptors’ Danny Green is saying it’s an absolute no go.
During an interview on Saturday with Yahoo! Sports, the 32-year-old was asked how he and his teammates would respond to an invite to the White House by Donald Trump. In short, Green said the team would most likely pass on it.
“I just don’t think that we accept,” Green said. “And I try to respect everybody in every field that they do, regardless of how crazy that things are. But he really makes it hard. He makes it very, very tough to respect how he goes about things and does things.” Green said sternly: “To put it politely, I think it’s a hard no.”
Just two days before, Trump was asked if he would be inviting the champions to the White House, he replied that he would “think about it.” “So we’ll think about that, if they’d like to do it,” Trump told reporters.
However, Green said that if the team did decide not to make the trip, he can only assume Trump would uninvite them. “That’s fine,” Green continued.
