One woman says she was at a California Buffalo Wild Wings location on Thursday when a rat fell from the ceiling onto her table.
According to ABC, Alisha Norman heard a noise while she was watching a Women’s World Cup match.
“I heard a noise, and we all looked up and down came the rat,” Norman told KTRK.
The restaurant manager used two plates to catch the rat and placed it in a bag. In an attempt to make things right with the customer, staff picked up Norman’s tab.
“It was disgusting, it was still alive,” she added. “Its heart was still beating.”
Although this specific location had an A rating from the Department of Public Health, the restaurant cited construction as the cause of the rat falling from the ceiling.
A spokesperson for Buffalo Wild Wings said that the restaurant is now closed for cleaning.
“The isolated incident at the Westchester-area Buffalo Wild Wings in Los Angeles yesterday was unfortunate,” Buffalo Wild Wings said in a statement. “We hold Buffalo Wild Wings to the highest operating standards and promptly closed the restaurant for proper remediation, cleaning, and sanitization.”
