Did Ray J fake his “bleeding eyes” moment over the weekend? One photographer says absolutely.
The singer has been back in the headlines after a wild Valentine’s Day concert at Shreveport Municipal Auditorium had fans puzzled. The 45-year-old performer hit the stage with what looked like blood streaming from his eyes and a monitor taped to his chest. However, a photographer at the show claims the moment was pure theatrics.
Tommy Nard II told KTAL 6 he personally watched Ray J apply what he called “fake blood” before stepping out in front of the crowd.
“He loves the camera. He loves the attention. Anybody that knows him, it’s all theatrical,” Nard said. He also added, “I seen him literally put on the fake blood and things like that, and go out there with the crowd, which is very shocking that he’d do something like that.”
Still, Ray J’s manager, Melinda Santiago, pushed back hard. In a statement, she said, “The bottom line is Ray J has been in and out of the hospital dealing with health and heart issues. That is a fact. Another fact is that the meds that Ray is on have some side effects.” She also called it “absurd” for a local videographer to “clout chase for five min of fame off of Ray J’s name and play about Ray being sick.”
This Ray J bleeding eyes controversy lands just weeks after he claimed doctors told him he only had months to live. In January, Ray J said, “My heart’s only beating like 25 percent.” He later added on Instagram Live, “2027 is definitely a wrap for me.”
Ray J was hospitalized in Las Vegas on January 7 for severe pneumonia and heart pain, and he previously battled pneumonia in 2021.
So now fans are split. Was this performance art or a man pushing through real health issues for the show?
