Ray J is convinced that his sex tape with Kim Kardashian changed the world.

During his recent “Club Shay Shay” chat, the singer opened up about the tape that helped launch Kardashian’s reality television career. According to the “Sexy Can I” star, homemade pornography is the reason people are obsessed with sexual content.

“We would all be different,” he theorized to host Shannon Sharpe. “We’d have on different clothes. Probably more people would be going to college and getting an education and being successful.”

The tape was created in 2003 while the former couple were on vacation in Mexico. Kardashian has previously stated she was high on ecstasy during the filming. Ray has also shared that he doesn’t remember filming much of the illicit video, which was sold in 2007 and brought in over $1 million dollar in its first week of sales on the adult market. It has been reported that Ray and Kardashian split a $1 million advance ahead of release. Despite the lucrative deal, Ray is not proud of the footage.

“There may not be any OnlyFans and all the opportunities like that. Are we a part of the cure? Are we a part of the disease? I don’t f**kn’ know. All I know is I’m just trying to make it right,” he stated, adding that now with his own children, he realizes that the sex tape wasn’t the best idea.
