A New York bound flight attendant packed more than expected in her carry-on and now police are searching for her.
On Friday, a Jet Blue flight attendant headed to New York from LAX was about to go through a TSA check before she was chosen for a random search, something flight attendants normally aren’t subject to. What TSA didn’t know is that the flight attendant was toting nearly 70 lbs of cocaine in her bag. When asked for her identification, authorities say the woman appeared nervous. Before she could be caught in the act, the flight attendant grabbed her bags and bolted. Unfortunately the weight from her bags were slowing her down, so she ditched the drugs and her Gucci heels as she ran down an up escalator.
The drugs were stashed in several green bags. “With her bringing this amount of narcotics in the airport, chances are this wasn’t her first time through,” said McClain, head of the Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers Association. “We’re hoping this is a wake-up call to airport management as well as federal legislators.”
The incident was captured on video, which has yet to be released. The drugs were booked into evidence and the flight attendant faces felony charges. Jet Blue has yet to comment.
