Regé-Jean Page says that he will be leaving “Bridgerton” because his contract with the romance show was only for one season.
When the news surfaced that the British star would be exiting the Netflix hit series, fans were quickly taken aback. However, the actor is clearing up any misinformation about his departure, telling Variety that “It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end, give us a year.” The 31-year-old says that he is happy with the quick closure that his character would achieve in the first season.
Each “Bridgerton” season will show a different sibling’s love story, which is also something that Page is happy about. He says that being a part of season one felt as if he was a part of a limited series.
“I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”
“Bridgerton” is based on Julia Quinn‘s series of romance novels. Season one is currently streaming on Netflix. While season two has not have been given a premiere date, it has been confirmed that it will focus on the life of Anthony Bridgerton.
