Fresh off the box office success of “Little” starring Marsai Martin, Issa Rae, and Regina Hall, the “Girls Trip” actress and comedian will be taking her talents to Los Angeles to host the 2019 BET Awards.
For the first time ever, Hall will host the 19th annual award show, joining the likes of Hollywood favorites like, Jamie Foxx, Anthony Anderson, Traces Ellis Ross and Mo’Nique, as the network “celebrates 19 years of creating unforgettable moments, showcasing the present and future of black entertainment while honoring the unsung heroes and icons of the past,” according to a press release.
In addition to hosting, Hall will also compete in this year’s “Best Actress” category, facing off against “Little” co-star Issa Rae, Oscar-Winning actress Regina King, “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson, Comedian Tiffany Haddish and “How To Get Away With Murder” star, Viola Davis.
The show is set to air live on Sunday, June 23, from the Microsoft Theater, and as previously reported, Cardi B leads the charge with a total of seven nominations, including Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Best Collaboration, Video of The Year, Album of The Year and more.
