Now that the dust has settled over the whole Khloe K, Amber Rose, Tyga, Blac Chyna, Kylie J Kanye West, & last but never least, Kim K. fiasco, social media war of words, let us take a deeper look into this drama and see what we can learn from this. I’m a firm believer that you can learn lessons from almost anything, if presented the right opportunity.
To catch you up on how this all started, Amber Rose did an interview with The Breakfast Club, in which she was asked her thoughts about allegedly “Tyga and Kylie” dating situation. She responded by saying :
Amber: She’s a baby. She needs to go to bed. It’s 7’o clock. And relax. Nah, I’m over that. That’s ridiculous. He should be ashamed of himself. That’s how I feel for sure.
Yee: What happens if you run into them in LA?
Amber: I ain’t speaking to them. At all. He has a beautiful woman and a baby and left that for a sixteen year old that just turned seventeen. Nah.
But guess what, that’s up to her and her mother…
Listen, I really don’t hate those girls but I just don’t respect them.
Khloe Kardashian in her true clap back nature sent out a series of tweets defending her sisters of course.
To which Amber responded by saying:
From there, the tweets, posts, and subliminal but not so subliminal shade was thrown all day. Everyone got a piece of the action. Trina re-posted a video of the Amber saying she listened to her during her breakup. (Could this be because Khloe stole French Montana from her?) Wiz Khalifa’s mother commented on a post insinuating Amber Rose throws rocks and hides her hands. Saying, she’s crazy to go up against a gang of sisters. (Is she salty because Amber filed for divorce from her son?) Too much to list but the whole world was watching, one tweet/post at a time.
The thing with social media, regardless if you are a celebrity or not, it has become the platform to air it all out. From divorces, cheating spouses, baby mama baby daddy drama, sex scandals you name it. 140 characters seemingly is enough to tell the world how you’re feeling today.
When did something so personal become impersonal? Dirty laundry used to be something on the hush hush. One would never dare tell personal business for fear of embarrassment or simply by sticking to the motto “What goes on in this house, stays in this house”. I believe Hollywood and Reality TV as well as well as evolution (times have changed) have glamorized and exploited private and personal matters, for the sheer means of entertainment.
While it was humorous initially to watch these women go back and forth, it was slightly disturbing. Low blows about who was a whore first, to whose sex tape was better, to an alleged father getting away with murder…someone call Shonda Rhimes please!
When do we say enough is enough and step away from the proverbial smartphone keypad?
Today’s Lesson: stay off social media when it comes to something personal folks, it’s not worth the whole world in your business.
