The Bronx is honoring Remy Ma with her own street sign.
The Bronx native announced the news on her Instagram account with a video of her unveiling the sign. The sign is the newest addition to the Bronx Walk of Fame.
In the video, Remy is stood alongside the Bronx Borough President, Vanessa Gibson, and the Deputy Borough President, Janet Peguero. Of course, Remy’s rap mate, Fat Joe, was by her side during the unveiling.
“Today, I was given my own street sign in the Bronx! I’ve come so far from the girl that used to take the 6 train and ride the Bx22 bus. I’ve had to go to court across the street from where that sign is.
She continued, “I’ve lived in a shelter down the block from where that sign is, I’ve went to high school a few lights up from where that sign is. I debuted on of the biggest of my career in the stadium behind where that sign is…I appreciate & am so thankful for where I am, I wouldn’t change a thing about where I’ve come from. And I’m excited to see where I’m going. Thank you Bronx Borough President @msvanessa77 and Deputy Borough President @jpegnyc for this honor.”
The news come just a few days following Remy’s performance at the Good Music Festival. She took the stage at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden on May 7. The festival included performances from Ja Rule, Ashanti, Fat Joe, and Lil’ Mo.
