Name, Image, and Likeness have presented life-changing money to youth athletes as young as 15. Due to likeness in social media and the growing world of youth sports, it has presented opportunities not imaginable five years ago. When Overtime Elite and now shut down G-League Ignite became competitors to the NCAA’s bottom line, they inevitably had to create NIL for their athletes to make money.
It is not pay-to-play. However, the collectives at each of these Universities negotiate with lawyers who agree on how much a player will be paid to come to that prospective school. Everyone does not have the same market value, especially in the Transfer Portal. The portal has allowed NCAA players to transfer schools and have immediate eligibility.
Before, you would have to sit out a year after transferring. Now, with this rule being nixed and NIL becoming a high-market piece, returning players or transfer portal recruits see upwards of $1 million in offers to come to play at another school. For example. Great Osobor, formerly of Utah State and Montana State, is transferring to Seattle with $2 million in NIL deals waiting for him.
Washington-bound Great Osobor will earn at least $2 million this season as part of his NIL deals, source told @TheFieldOf68 .
Could wind up being in $2.2 million range depending on other deals (adidas, trading cards, etc.).
For comparison, 30th pick in this year's NBA Draft…

Life-changing money for the forward from Bradford, England. Osobor, whose father is a taxi driver and his mother is a caregiver, has the opportunity to set himself and his parents up for the rest of their lives. This is the first year of negotiations. If he exceeds expectations, he can go to the NBA or stay another year and make the same amount. Osobor averaged 18 points and nine rebounds a night for Utah State, presenting the ability to be a high-level defender and one of the more intriguing recruits.
Washington stepped up to the plate, and GSL Sports helped negotiate this massive deal for the big man. It will now be interesting to see how these schools approach players who don’t live up to their end of the deal. At the end of the day, investing in these players comes with expectations. It’s expected that Osobor will exceed them.
BREAKING: The top-available player in the transfer portal, Great Osobor, has committed to Washington 🔥
