Republican Congressman Reportedly Paid $84,000 of Taxpayer Money to Settle Sexual Harassment Claim

As sexual assault allegations mount against the biggest men in Hollywood and politics, a new report has surfaced that revealed several thousand taxpayer dollars have been used to settle sexual harassment claims.

According to Politico, Communications director, Lauren Greene, sued Republican congressman Blake Farenthold back in 2014 for gender discrimination, sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. The sexual harassment case settled in 2015.

Although neither party confirmed the amount of money Greene won in the settlement, the Office of Compliance only one payment of $84,000 to settle a sexual harassment claim in the past five years.

In the wake of the report, Farenthold said he could not confirm or deny that he used the account to settle the claim. However, this news comes on the heels of the increased sexual assault allegations on Capitol Hill.
