Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) is making headlines after announcing plans to introduce legislation that would put Trump’s face on a new $250 bill.
Wilson shared the proposal on social media, posting a mock-up of the potential bill along with a message supporting Trump’s economic policies.
“Grateful to announce that I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump,” he wrote.

The proposal, however, clashes with federal law, which prohibits living individuals from appearing on U.S. currency. Still, Wilson is pushing forward, arguing that Trump’s leadership on financial matters deserves recognition, especially in contrast to the current administration.
“Bidenflation has destroyed the economy, forcing American families to carry more cash. Most valuable bill for most valuable President,” Wilson added in his post.
The idea has already sparked debate, with supporters praising the move and critics calling it political theater. While the bill is unlikely to gain traction in Congress, it reflects the ongoing efforts by some Republicans to cement Trump’s legacy.
