A youth soccer coach has been charged with child rape after videos of him raping unconscious boys were found on his phone.
According to NBC News, the shocking content was uncovered when Camilo Hurtado Campos forgot his cell phone at a restaurant on June 22nd. The staff of the Franklin, Tennessee, eatery located the mobile device and went through it in hopes of finding a way to contact its owner. However, when browsing the phone, they were met with disturbing images of children ranging in age from nine to 17, all passed out and being sexually abused by Campos. The employees immediately called the police, and Campos was tracked down the following day.
The 56-year-old was charged with rape of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor. Detectives are expected to file several additional charges.
Authorities confirmed that they located hundreds of homemade child pornography recordings with Campos and the victims. Police believe Campos would go to neighborhood schools and recruit boys under the guise of joining a neighborhood soccer team. Since he’d been in the city for over 20 years and was a well-respected little league coach, Campos easily gained their trust before luring kids to his home, drugging them, and taking advantage of them.
So far, investigators have only identified two of the children featured in Campos’ sinister videos but are working tirelessly to find out who the remaining targets are. However, that may prove difficult as the children were all sedated and may not know what took place. The predator is being held at Williamson County Criminal Justice Center on a $525,000 bond.
