Famed restaurateur Guy Fieri will not be handing over his fortune to his children without them putting in the work to properly run his businesses.
During a recent interview with Fox News, Fieri revealed his sons, Hunter and Ryder, won’t automatically receive a penny of his money after he passes away.
“I tell them the same thing my dad told me. My dad says, ‘When I die, you can expect that I’m gonna die broke, and you’re gonna be paying for the funeral,'” he told the outlet.
Fieri is a cookbook author and the 2006 winner of Food Network’s popular television competition show, “Next Food Network Star.” As a result, he was givin his own series, “Guy’s Big Bite.” This led to other spinoffs, “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives,” “Guy’s Grocery Games,” “Tournament of Champions,” and “Guy’s Ranch Kitchen.” In November 2023, Fieri signed a new three-year, $100 million deal with the Food Network. Additionally, he is the owner of several restaurant brands. Therefore, if his sons want to inherit the empire, they will have to first receive two college degrees to do so.
“Shaq said it best. He said about his kids one time. He says, ‘If you want any of this cheese, you gotta give me two degrees.’ Well, my two degrees mean postgraduate, so they are on their way,” Fieri explained.
Fieri is also raising his nephew Jules, who is already studying law at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Therefore, he is already well on his way.
🍴👨🍳 Guy Fieri’s approach to ensuring his sons are well-prepared to inherit his empire by requiring them to earn two college degrees is both admirable and practical. It emphasizes the importance of hard work and education in managing a successful business. This strategy, inspired by Shaq’s parenting philosophy, is a great example of responsible parenting and business management. #EducatedSuccess #ParentingGoals
