RG3’s father, better known as Robert Griffin Jr., is going to be spending some time behind bars after an incident last month when he was clocked going 115 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. Griffin Jr. was driving on I-64 in Hampton, VA early in the morning when he was pulled over by an officer for speeding. According to Pro Football Talk, he was in town to visit his son at training camp in Richmond.
Griffin Jr. was charged with reckless driving and appeared in court this week, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. The judge convicted him and sentenced him to 60 days in jail, with 50 of those days suspended, meaning he will only have to go to jail for 10 days of the initial 60-day sentence he was handed down. However, if he violates the rules of his probation, he may have to serve part or all of the suspended sentence.
Griffin Jr. will spend his 10 days in jail over the next five weekends beginning October 2. In addition, he will also have to pay a $500 fine.
What do you think…is this punishment fair or excessive?
