“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey is suing her ex-husband Peter Thomas over an unpaid loan.
Thomas and Bailey called it quits back in 2017, but Bailey often loaned Thomas some extra cash to invest in Thomas’ business ventures while they were together. Now, Bailey is asking for her money back in a newly filed lawsuit against her former co-star.
Thomas had a variety of restaurants and nightclubs. Some were even featured on the reality series, like Bar One lounge in Atlanta. However, the business seemed to go left, and the property was foreclosed. Thomas was then on the move to open another location and needed Bailey’s money to fund it.
In 2017, Bailey spoke about the loan, saying she and Thomas had “unfinished business.” “I’m his partner at Bar One Atlanta. We’re building it out now. This was a project that we started while we were together, and we kind of put it on hold while we were kind of not liking each other so much.”
According to Showbizz Cheat Sheet, Bailey filed a lawsuit against Thomas seeking to gain back the $170,000 she loaned him to buy his new space. Madamnoire reports that Bailey’s name is on the deed for the building, which is now in foreclosure as well, the outlet reports. Documents show that Peter will begin making payments in January 2021.
