Rhode Island Man Attacked & Robbed 14-Year-Old Girl Who Wouldn’t Talk To Him; Blames Laced Weed For His Actions

A Rhode Island man could face time behind bars after attacking a 14-year-old girl and robbing her of her sneakers.

The brazen move took place on June 23rd, around 6:30 p.m. in Attleboro. Authorities say that is when 25-year-old Nedson Daluz approached the teenage victim and tried to spark a conversation. When she refused to talk to him, he allegedly hit her and then snatched her Air Force 1s off her feet before fleeing. The two did not know one another.

After still images of Daluz at the scene began to circulate online, Daluz turned himself on June 29th. His defense lawyer Damien Puller fought against the prosecution’s request for Daluz to be held without bond. Puller argued that the Pawtucket man is college educated with no criminal history and a supportive family. However, after his arrest, Daluz did admit to being the suspect in the case but claimed he smoked weed shortly before he attacked the girl. Daluz believed that the marijuana was likely laced because he did not feel like himself after ingesting it. Ultimately, Judge Michele Armour granted him a $10,000 cash bond.

In addition to the bond, Daluz must adhere to several pre-trial conditions. He was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet and must abide by a curfew. Daluz works as a food delivery driver but is not permitted to enter Attleboro, even if he has the order to drop off in the area. If he does enter the city, the GPS bracelet will immediately notify officials as he is deemed dangerous. He has also been ordered not to attempt any contact with his victim.
