“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie, were booked Thursday night in Westminster, Maryland, on criminal fraud charges.
TMZ reported that Wendy is facing 16 counts in total, including seven felonies. She is charged with false or misleading information fraud exceeding $300 and also faces a misdemeanor for making a false statement to an officer.
Details regarding the charges against her husband have not been disclosed.
The news comes as Wendy continues her career on “RHOP,” where she has been a cast member since Season 5. Beyond reality TV, she is a college professor of education at Johns Hopkins University and a journalist, contributing to The Hill and appearing on MSNBC.
This arrest follows closely on the heels of “RHOP” castmate Karen Huger’s legal troubles. Karen was released from jail asf month after serving six months of a one-year sentence for back-to-back DUI convictions.
Fans of the show are noting a pattern of serious legal issues affecting the cast in recent months.
With the severity of the charges, Wendy and Eddie’s legal situation will likely have implications for both their personal and professional lives.
